Novartis invites you to join us for the first
OpenMinds Virtual Digital Innovation Summit

We’re bringing together diverse perspectives to develop innovative solutions to improve the future of MS patient care.

You’ll hear from, and collaborate with, healthcare professionals, digital health entrepreneurs, clinical researchers and patient advocates through a programme of paired talks and workshops to address the biggest unmet needs in MS.

Join our community of experts in Novartis’ first-of-its-kind endeavour as we uncover and tackle together some of the biggest challenges in MS.

As part of our first digital innovation summit, we are tasking you with identifying solutions to some of the biggest challenges in MS. In return, you will be part of a community of innovators, hear the latest digital insights in MS, and workshop your ideas with peers. The workshop outputs will be reviewed by the steering committee and may be considered for future programmes in collaboration with Novartis.

Uncovering insights
with virtual talks


Two virtual talks discussing current hot topics in MS will be held across two evenings in November and delivered by expert speakers leading the charge in healthcare innovation. Register today and join us as we uncover some of the biggest challenges in MS management and discuss together key solutions, current innovations and best practices for driving forward the future of MS patient care.

Places in the talks are not limited and you are welcome to attend both virtual talks. The talks will be 25 minutes with additional time for live audience Q&A.

Exploring innovation
with virtual workshops


Each virtual talk is paired with a workshop. Following the talks, you’re invited to attend a virtual workshop in December hosted by expert facilitators. In small groups of diverse perspectives, you’ll brainstorm and develop innovative solutions to unmet needs with the aim to revolutionise patient care.

The workshops places are limited and have been designed to be paired to the evening talks. Please attend one workshop paired to one of the talks you choose. Each virtual workshop will last approximately 2 hours.

Virtual Talk 1

Remote patient care: how may new practices impact the management of patients by the multidisciplinary team?

Monday 23rd November, 18:00

Dr Martin Wilson, Consultant Neurologist at the Walton Centre and Clinical Lead for Information Technology, will share his experience in implementing remote patient management solutions into clinical practice as we hear and discuss together the innovations and unmet needs in this area, what the future looks like for HCP adoption and how this may impact patient care.

The session will be followed by live audience Q&A facilitated by our Steering Committee member and health tech entrepreneur Helene Viatge.

Self-monitoring and management: what could the future look like for our patients?

Friday 27th November 2020, 17:00

Dr Alison Thomson PhD, a designer, researcher and Lecturer in Patient Public Involvement and Public Engagement in Science at the Wolfson Institute of Preventive Medicine, Barts and The London will discuss the future of self-monitoring, education and the reality of the adoption of apps in clinical practice, as we look at patient management in the era of new technologies and connected patient care.

The session will be followed by live audience Q&A facilitated by our Steering Committee member Rob Sloan.
